A distant campfire examines the intersection between the Medieval and the Modern. Here we explore that intersection in the medium of storytelling. All storytelling forms are open to investigation.
We want to explore:
1. What medieval literature is this modern work referencing?
3. What virtues are being extolled in the story? Honor, nobility, justice, compassion? What is so enduring about the chivalric code that it is still referenced today? What underlying values does it promote?
4. Who was the audience for this story? Who is the audience when it was written and who is the audience today?
5. What is it about this story that identifies it as medieval? Is it the arms and armor, the costumes, the social structure, the environment?
6. What actually is the setting? Is it Dark Ages, High renaissance, some more idealized time that never was, a fantasty setting with medieval overtones?
7. Best costumes, and why? Best costume elements.
Which ones could we replicate?
8. Best set dressing. Furniture, tents, lights, etc.
What could we copy?
9. Music, good or bad? Playable?
10.
